About Alamo, CA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Alamo is an unincorporated town in Contra Costa CountyCalifornia in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Alamo was named by the Spanish in 1850 for the Spanish word for the poplar trees that lined San Ramon Creek. History tells people have lived in the Alamo area for over 5,000 years. The Tatcan Indians, a Bay Miwok tribe, lived in Alamo in the eighteenth century.

Alamo’s picturesque scenery was well described in 1857 by pioneer Mary Ann Jones in her journal, “On every side, the valley and surrounding hills were covered with thick, velvety clover, and with wild oats standing waist high waving and rippling in the summer breeze, like the bosom of a lake.”

Alamo is an agricultural and semi-rural residential area. Almonds, walnuts, pears, grapes and other fruit thrive in the mild climate. Alamo’s average daily temperature is 48 in January with 5 “of precipitation and 70 in July, with little precipitation. With sprawling views of the land and wonderful temperatures, Alamo is paradise.

The beauty and tranquility of Alamo have been called home to residents such as St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La RussaOlympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, ex NFL player Greg Kragen, and for those rockers among us, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted.

Alamo is home to two elementary schools, one high school, one middle school, and one private school and is located near colleges such as the University of California-Berkeley and California State University – East Bay.
